sit a moment
in complete silence
close your eyes
and imagine

imagine
if  we had proof  of  Heaven
imagine
if  we could go to Heaven and back

imagine
if  we knew without a doubt
that our actions here on Earth
determine if  we get into Heaven after death

imagine
how the world might change
would all wars end?
would all violent crime disappear?

imagine
what life could be like
would everyone be kind?
would everyone put others first?

imagine
the possibilities

“Louis Collins (Angels Laid Him Away)”   Mississippi John Hurt

written by Mississippi John Hurt

oh,  what choices
did Louis Collins make
that got him shot
at such a young age?

oh,  what risks
did Louis Collins take
that caused two men
to fly into a killing rage?

what choices
could Louis Collins have made
to change the outcome
that fateful day?

what price
would Louis Collins have paid
to avoid being buried
six feet under the clay?

the angels laid him away
as his mama wept

the angels laid him away
and Louis Collins slept

ʚ∙∙∙∙ a world apart ∙∙∙∙ɞ

∙♡∙

∙∙♡∙∙

why must we be a world apart?

how cruel the reality of  our existence
that tore you from my embrace!
cannot life be kind this once?

time betrays us,  too
each minute stretching into days
whilst we endure our forced separation

what Gods determined that this should be so
what terrible deed did we commit to offend them
or could it simply be that they are jealous of  our love?

no matter how long it takes
i will be waiting for the moment
when once again i shall be in your arms

i am forever yours,  my Love

geisha in 1830 were
ladies of  fashion ~  in dress,  art  and  bed
a life of  ease so it would seem
Akari wanted for nothing
except her freedom

as the shamisen played
Akari’s dancing mesmerized
enchanting
one very rich and powerful man

Natsu promised her many things
in exchange she would only have to dance and pour his tea
other times she would be free to write poetry and sing
and so she became his

but secretly Natsu knew
she would fall in love with him
Akari danced and served his tea
but nothing more did she offer
until one night in a blind rage
he took possession of  her very soul
and Akari was seen nevermore

there is a tea house now
where once they lived
and it is said
that Akari’s tears
will sweeten your tea
if  you will set her free

alas,  only a ghost-image remains
if  you look closely
when taking the last sip of  your tea

wonder-filled moment

virginal  and  mysterious

gone before it’s met

impossible to breathe in

the nuances of  its meaning

¤

“please stay”    i whisper plaintively

“a little while…     a little while…

never again shall this come my way

untainted  and  unknown

…i wish to understand”

¤

time cares not,  continuing in its dance

a wisp of  my experience

an unwitting partner

¤

the taste of  virginity lost

all that remains upon my lips
