when  the  stars  lie  to  you

the  moon  may  try  to  shame  them

for  they  know  your  secret

it’s  really   you

to  learn  what  they  could  reveal

“Through Glass”  Stone Sour

lyrics ~

I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
Oh, God it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget…  you don’t expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can’t expect a bit of hope
And while you’re outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you’re staring at is me

‘Cause I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)
Before you tell yourself
It’s just a different scene
Remember it’s just different from what you’ve seen

I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it’s the stars
The stars
That shine for you
And it’s the stars
The stars
That lie to you.. yeah yeah

I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
Oh, god it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

‘Cause I’m looking at you through the glass…
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it’s the stars
The stars
That shine for you.. yeah yeah
And it’s the stars
The stars
That lie to you.. yeah yeah

And it’s the stars
The stars
That shine for you.. yeah yeah
And it’s the stars
The stars
That lie to you.. yeah, yeah

Oh, when the stars
Oh, when the stars that lie

  1. Often I think it is best that the stars keep their secrets. Smiles.

Wow. Beautifully profound. I love the night dream-like quality that permeates your poem. Great job. Keep it up.

  3. When stars try to lie to you… That’s a cool concept, Dani.

    • i wish i could take credit for it, but it’s a line from the song “Through Glass” by Stone Sour which was the inspiration for my poem. i think it’s pretty cool, too. {smile} thanks so much for your visit, Kerry. ♥

  4. Are those stars lying to me about the one I love, or am I lying to myself about what the stars are saying?
    Did I get it?

i'd love to hear from you ♥ thanks! {comments must be approved before they are visible}
