๔ •ฐ• ๖

the girl with the rainbow hair
left broken hearts all over the place
not by choice
nor by design
once someone looked into her lilac eyes
they trothed their love to her forevermore

she took to wearing big dark glasses
indoors and out…      day and night
till she moved to West Hollywood
Cali-for-ni-aaaaay
on the Sunset Strip
where,  happily,  she fit right in

she got a job as a waitress
at the Rainbow Bar & Grill
bought blue contact lenses
changed her name to Layla
and adopted a cat
they’re still living there

  1. Rainbow hair, she sounds delightful. Sad if she wore dark glasses on the inside and out.. as if she was hiding, even from herself. Glad she has a cat for company.

    • i changed the wording ~ i meant indoors and outdoors. {smile} West Hollywood was one of the first places in the country to outlaw declawing cats, so i thought it would be appropriate for her to get one. {smile} ♥

I love Rainbow girl….she is a warrior, fighting art and sharing beauty! :D
    <3 fun to read!
    I love that song!

    • my {almost} 15-year-old granddaughter did dye her hair in a rainbow ~ she also uses colored sharpies to “paint” on her body ~ arms, legs, hands ~ and it’s really gorgeous! a shame it doesn’t last long. she would love to be called a warrior! {she wears combat boots a lot. (smile)} thanks for your visit and comment, Ella! ♥
