featured poets
at my heart’s love songs

another  wonderful  woman  poet

i am pleased to be featuring some of  the most creative,  talented,  brilliant  {really!}  poets of  our time.  i have been fortunate over the past two and a half years to meet this amazing group of  people through twitter and their blogs.  not only are they writers who excite and enchant and entrance their readers,  they are,  one and all,  nice people who are supportive of  everyone in our online poetry community.  the “age of  technology”  has,  in fact,  facilitated the spread of  the ARTS! ~  poetry,  photography,  art,  prose,  music…   i have friends i have yet to meet face-to-face from all around the world.  day or night,  you can visit their blogs and be transported to another time or place or frame of  mind with just a few clicks of  a mouse.  i find it thrilling!  and i believe you will find it equally thrilling to discover their words.

just click on the  “Read More”  links on each poem to be taken to a new tab or window to read the rest of  the poem on the author’s blog.  if  you enjoy what you read,  please leave a comment on their blog to let them know.  { you don’t have to say you saw them here. }  i am truly honored that these wonderful people agreed to be featured on my blog ~  my gratitude to them all.

and thank you for coming to our celebration ~  enjoy!

featured poet:

Margaret  Bednar

i discovered Margaret Bednar through the poetry blogosphere in 2011.  not only is she a wonderful poet, but also an amazing artist and photographer.  i don’t know Margaret very well except to say that she is very humble when it comes to how extremely talented she is.  she says  “I enjoy playing with words.  I feel I have grown quite a bit in my writing of poetry,  I edit much more easily,  trying to keep my poems to as few words as possible.  I struggle with rhyme and structured poetry,  but some of the ones I am most proud are just such ones…  probably due to the struggle it took to bring them alive!  Along with poetry,  I am hooked on photography…  and for me, the exciting thing is I have SO much to learn in both that I hope each year brings about visible improvement.”  Margaret has at least six blogs which are listed below.

in her own words ~

“I am 40 something,  have 6 amazing children,  1 ‘perfect’ husband,  3 dogs,  2 horses & 2 cats.  I am a stay-at-home mom that doesn’t enjoy cooking,  cleaning & doing laundry.  I adore my family & treasure dear friends.  Art in any form has always fascinated me & I am thrilled to finally have a bit of time to pursue this interest.”

The Four Divas    by   Margaret Bednar

Summer poses,
incandescently draped
in barberry blooms
her sultry breath
refreshing drooping necks,
flowing cape embraces creation
within its languid folds.
Autumn joy flounces
amongst lavendar asters,
seams bursting…..Read More

Mother’s Pearls Remembered”    by   Margaret Bednar

Memories come flooding back
On the anniversary of my Mother’s death
Today as I place these gems around my neck
Hoping to feel her presence
Entertaining the idea of
Replicating her elegance in me
Stillness envelopes my soul

Perhaps it will be enough…..Read More

I tried to follow the link for “Sweet Or Sour”, but didn’t get a poem. It was just a whole bunch of thumbnail pictures, like a pic wall or something.

    • the link will only take you to the main page where you then have to click on the thumbnail version of the photograph. that site is her poetry archive. i should put a note telling people that, huh? thanks for pointing it out! ♥
