“Through the Glass” Stone Sour

lyrics ~

I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
Oh God, it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

‘Cuz I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget, you don’t expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes
Initialized and folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can’t expect a bit of hopes
So while you’re outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you’re staring at is me

‘Cuz I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)
Before you tell yourself it’s just a different scene
Remember it’s just different from what you’ve seen

I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

‘Cuz I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
No one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

And it’s the stars, the stars
That shine for you
And it’s the stars, the stars
That lie to you, yeah

And it’s the stars, the stars
That shine for you
And it’s the stars, the stars
That lie to you, yeah

I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
Oh God, it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

‘Cuz I’m looking at you through the glass
Don’t know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

And it’s the stars, the stars
That shine for you, yeah
And it’s the stars, the stars
That lie to you, yeah

And it’s the stars, the stars
That shine for you, yeah
And it’s the stars, the stars
That lie to you, yeah

Oh, and the stars
Oh, and the stars they lie

  1. i love looking through windows… they always open up new worlds and sometimes work as mirrors as well..

    • i’ve seen this painting before and was drawn to it… we can see new worlds through windows, can’t we? {smile} i appreciate your visit, claudia! ♥ LOVE the prompt!

  2. I also wonder as I pass certain windows, what goes on behind them. Does someone look out as I look in. Very nice thoughts Dani

  3. smiles….windows def give us perspective…and i like how you point out that it is from where we stand that we see it differently…nice one dani…good to see you too…smiles.

  4. I often meditate while looking through windows…

  5. The view is definitely different if one looks in a window rather than out! Nice.

  6. The poetry and images make me itch to start painting again!

  7. I must look out the window more, as some days I am staring straight into the darkness etc. Enjoyed reading this…
