the  Devil’s  got  no  magic
not  black  nor  white  nor  green

He  got nothin’  but a bag of  tricks
He  just ugly  and  full of  shit  and  mean

Ɣ

the  Devil’s  got  no  magic,  no  allusions  or  illusions
that will trick me  into thinkin’   He  knows which way to go

He  got nothin’  to sway  me
just a worn out dog and pony show

Ɣ

the Devil’s  got  no  magic
no enchantment  to  bewitch me

He  got nothin’  i  want
’cause  i’m  more evil  than  He  ever be

“Devil Woman”   Cliff Richard

lyrics ~

  • Songwriters:  Terry Britten,  Christine Hodgson

I’ve had nothing but bad luck
Since the day I saw the cat at my door
So I came into you sweet lady
Answering your mystical call

Crystal ball on the table
Showing the future, the past
Same cat with them evil eyes
And I knew it was a spell she cast

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get you

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get you from behind

Give me the ring on your finger
Let me see the lines on your hand
I can see me a tall dark stranger
Giving you what you hadn’t planned

I drank the potion she offered me
I found myself on the floor
Then I looked in those big green eyes
And I wondered what I’d come there for

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get  you

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil  woman
She’s gonna get you from behind

Stay away, look out

If you’re  out on a moonlit night
Be careful of them neighborhood strays
Of a lady with long black hair
Tryin’ to win you with her feminine ways

Crystal ball on the table
Showing the future, the past
Same cat with them evil eyes
You’d better get out of there fast

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get you

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get you

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get you

She’s just a devil woman
With evil on her mind
Beware the devil woman
She’s gonna get  you

  1. oh dang…i like the attitude dani….def lyrical as well, i really like the flow of it and could def hear the music in it….you slayed this prompt…smiles.

  2. What a surprise ending on this one! The poem reads with excellent rhythm–like a song almost. Thanks for this good prompt.

  3. I love this piece! The devil has no power because you are more evil than he! I love the picture too!

  4. That’s a great Cliff Richard hit to go with this Dani. Being more evil than the devil is a LOT to have to live up to…lol He’s only evil if we allow him to be eh ;)

  5. Ha! I never saw that twist coming at the end. I guess you told him!

  6. Fascinating take on magic, Dani. But I still don’t care to tangle with the devil. No, not me!

  7. I can hear this as a blues song. Perhaps you and Coal should get together and form a girl band!

  8. Quite devilish … but well done :-)

  9. Love this so much! I think most women do have that inner propensity toward evil :) Probably a good thing the Devil is not a woman, otherwise we’d all be screwed!

  10. I loved it…it is lyrical and could easily be lyrics for a song. Would take the merest of changes (repetitions) to be put into the tercet form of the blues. It’s a good woman’s blues — (think Bonnie Raitt). Lyricists are in demand..think about it. Very well written here. Very fine.

  11. Awesome! I love that you cast yourself above him and I love the image! :)

  12. The devil is alive and kicking, trying to bring us down.

i'd love to hear from you ♥ thanks! {comments must be approved before they are visible}
