A to Z Challenge April 2012 ~ reflections

as the final post for the  Blogging  A to Z  Challenge April 2012,  the hosts of  the challenge have asked participants to write a post reflecting upon the challenge.  the A to Z Challenge coincided with  National Poetry Month,  so i set out to combine the two with a  “featured poet series”  { i began the series during National Poetry Month April 2011. }  click  HERE  to see all of  the featured poets.   primarily due to problems with my laptop,  i  started off  late  { it is recommended that as many posts as possible are completed in advance }  and seemed to be constantly scrambling the entire month.  i did not accomplish what i wanted to,  but i  did  succeed in posting every day in April.

many amazing poets were featured.  i asked a little over sixty  { yes,  60! }  poets to allow me to feature them with a short introduction/bio and a few of  their poems which linked back to their blogs.  i was humbled and overwhelmed with the response!  only three poets did not respond,  and every one of  the others said yes!   thank you all!  there are still 27 poets to be featured.  i  have been taking care of  my grandchildren since April 26th and have not been able to do much in the way of  any blog posts this month.  please come back though ~  beginning May 15th at the latest, the rest of  the featured poet posts will be going up.

in addition to the featured poets posts,  i incorporated a few miscellaneous posts into the A to Z Challenge.  my favorite of  those are the ones about poetry   { poetry form  HERE }  { classical poetry  HERE and  HERE }  and  quotes;   wonderful poetry prompt sites   and  useful  websites  for  poets,  writers  and  bloggers.   along the way,  we celebrated  National Poetry Month  { every  April },   “put a poem in your pocket day”  { an  annual event sponsored by  POETS.ORG }  and  Earth Day.   i  wrote very little new poetry but did re-post a lot of  my old poems,  some of  which i  revised.

i  hope that you enjoyed my  A to Z  Challenge posts.  i  am so very appreciative of  the amazing response ~  2, 184 views in the month of  April,  bringing my heart’s love songs total views to over 40,000!  i am stunned!!!  thank you!  see you next year.  {smile}

  1. Nice conclusion to a wonderful month! You can be so proud.

  2. Oh, so you’re one of those “over achievers” I joked about in my reflections post who participated in more than one challenge! My hat’s off to you. :)

  3. i tried one of those April challenges once and only once. I quit about twenty days in. Never quit quitting, that’s my motto! I do admire your dedication though, my Sista Poet, and enjoyed the posts. And that Beatles song is one of my favorites!

  4. Dani… your shine on us all brightens the day
    enjoy your grandchildren… create wonderful lasting memories with them
    now that is poetry ♥ of the best kind
    colour off the page
    dance to the music
    that fills the day
    laughter and love

  5. Congratulation on finishing the challenge. During the challenge I didn’t visit as many blogs as I would like to but, cross my heart, I’m visiting every single one with the reflection post (and I’m almost done)! I am so glad my journey brought me here.

    Evalina, This and that…

i'd love to hear from you ♥ thanks! {comments must be approved before they are visible}
