i am the earth mother

{originally posted 21 March 2010}

ϔ

i am the earth mother

my brother,  the Sun

my sister,  the Moon

my eyes are filled with stars

my hair is braided with flowers

their scent is my perfume

·ϰ· ϔ ·ϰ·

i am the earth mother

i taught the birds how to sing

i taught the snowflakes how to dance

i taught the oceans how to wave

i taught the rivers how to run

i taught the winds how to howl

·ϰ· ϔ ·ϰ·

i am the earth mother

moonbeams caress you when i sleep

sunshine warms you when i smile

raindrops fall upon you when i weep

the thunder rumbles my displeasure

i wield lightning bolts in my rage

·ϰ· ϔ ·ϰ·

i am the earth mother

the moral of this story?

don’t piss me off

  1. Hehehehe. If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!

  2. Forgiveness may be one of the hardest spiritual disciplines to practise!

    • it certainly is for me whether i’m trying to forgive others or myself. it’s the middle of the night now and my eyes are almost closed, but i will come by your site asap. ♥

  3. Sometimes difficult to do but forgiveness brings peace ~

I am also participating in this challenge under my other blog, as Grace ~

    Take care ~

  4. Dani, what I found out is that forgiveness mostly benefits the one who is doing the forgiving. It makes a person feel BETTER in the end. Nice to see you here!

  5. I loved it! Beautiful with an impact… :D

  6. keep saying… :-)

    Someone is Special

  7. Great writing, particularly the opening lines.

  8. the beginning of this was like a punch to the gut as my relationship with my mother goes about like that. I keep saying I will forgive and let go but, find it hard. SHe is aging and will be gone soon and I’d like to do that before it’s too late. :(

    • forgiving ~ really letting it go ~ is soooo difficult, isn’t it? i tried the last few years of my mother’s life. if it is possible for you to get things settled with your mother, i’m sure it will make it better for you. once she’s gone, anything you’ve hung onto will be that much more painful for YOU. ♥ ♥ ♥

i'd love to hear from you ♥ thanks! {comments must be approved before they are visible}
