the Sun has stopped in her journey
becoming perfectly still

the stars have stopped singing
becoming perfectly still

the earth has stopped spinning
becoming perfectly still

the wind has stopped breathing
becoming perfectly still

the tides have stopped their dancing
becoming perfectly still

her heart has stopped beating
becoming perfectly still

her lover’s silence
has covered them all
becoming perfectly still

  1. see that lovers silence could be a good thing or a bad…if its bad yeah nothing else makes sense…i would much rather the world stop at the touch of a kiss…smiles.

    Something I’m not good at–I admire those who can, though, become perfectly still and see what is there in that place, so different from everywhere else. Great use of repetition in this, dani.

    • thank you, Joy! ♥ i’m not great at intentionally becoming still. i have felt the weight of silence when your partner doesn’t/won’t talk. fortunately, not a problem now. {smile}

  3. Ah, yes, that would cause the world to stand perfectly still. Very nice write!
