·ϿϾ·  memories of  life in black and white  ·ϿϾ·

·

·

·ϿϾ·

time to say goodbye

can i?  after all these years?
·
years of  wanting you
·
wishing we were together

as the blush of  youth faded

·ϿϾ·

should i let you go?

stop haunting your memories
·
get out of  your life
·
only my reflection’s left

long past time to say goodbye

  1. are you the one that has been rattling the dishes in the cabinet at night? smiles. ghostly 55/magpie dani…

    • {smile} at first i didn’t notice the photographer’s reflection on the car, but once i did……… {nah, i just leave empty candy wrappers all over the house.}

  2. Beautiful pic and hauntingly romantic 55.

  3. hedgewitch

I don’t know why, but that picture creeps me out–not your poem though. I can definitely relate to that. Great 55, dani.

    • thank you, Joy! ♥ there’s a sense of foreboding about the photograph to me ~ is that what you mean? ~ though no obvious reason why. your visit and comment are much appreciated. ♥

  4. Sadly, the worst part is of knowing when to let go. No good trying to hold onto anyone who doesn’t want to stay but, it is hard to let go, too. Nice write!

  5. Believe it or not, I didn’t even notice the photographer’s reflection until I read this. Very cool, Dani!

    • thank you, MZ! ♥ i didn’t notice it at first either and like hedgewitch the photograph gave me a kind of creepy feeling. i truly appreciate your visit and kind comment! ♥

  6. You can Fudge what you want Dani,
You got Free Rein Carte Blanch!!!
Loved your amalgam of Prompts, I’m sure a 55 was in there.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

  7. haunting,
    sad,
    profound, amazing 55…

  8. Very touching, sad but so honest and resigned…I love the photo!

    • i don’t know where Magpie Tales get their photographs for the prompts, but they are certainly wonderful and interesting and inspiring. {smile} once i saw the photographer’s reflection on the car, i thought it would be easy to write a tanka saying goodbye to the girl in the front of the car ~ no such luck. i’m fairly satisfied with what i ended up with though. {i’m not sure why, but i even post the ones i know are terrible.} thank you for your visit and kind comment. ♥

  9. sometimes it takes us forever to say good bye…you captured this well dani

  10. profound…

    keep your poetry grand…

i'd love to hear from you ♥ thanks! {comments must be approved before they are visible}
