my gratitude to the .  Poetry Forms  .   at  .  One Stop Poetry  .  for wonderful explanations and examples of  shadorma and tanka forms of  poetry. briefly they are ~

shadorma .  is a syllabic poem with the following structure: 3/5/3/3/7/5. it is a 6 lined poem (sestet) of Spanish descent with no set rhyme scheme.

tanka  .  is a syllabic poem with the following structure: 5/7/5/7/7 and was originally intended to be written as a love poem. A tanka is not one poem, but two. It’s a combination of two poems, or thoughts, etc.  The first three lines are called  Kami-no-ku (upper poem). The last two lines of 7-7 is called Shim-no-ku, (lower poem). They are joined by that middle pivot line, called kakekotoba.

  5. The moon is an apt messenger when it comes to matters of the heart isn’t it? Felt. :-)

  6. Brilliant.. the combination of the intertwined haiku and Shadorma just made it so beautiful, your plea…! If I wanted to send a message to my love, I’d definitely borrow your words and whisper the same to the moon, Dani!

  7. Ahh, the moon, the moon ever a messenger of love. Does he pass along our hearts’ desires. I think he does!!
