amazing poets who happen to be amazing women

.
there are thousands and thousands of  women poets ~ maybe millions.  it is so difficult to have enough time to visit all, or even some,  of  the wonderful poetry blogs which exist now.  in recognition of  .  National Poetry Month, .  i would like to invite you to meet or revisit some amazing poets who happen to be amazing women.  i could not include even half  of  the talented women poets whose work i love and admire.  please know that if you are not included this time, it was merely through the luck of the draw and no reflection upon you or your writing. i hope to offer at least one more post this month {as well as continuing the featured poet of  the day through April 30th}  with the possibility of  making this an ongoing feature.  it is so exciting and inspiring to read the work of  other poets.  of  course  men are excellent poets, too, but since i am a woman i am focusing on the women in this post, though i often  “reblog”  poetry written by men.

i also have the extreme honor of  having this post be included in the  .   Celebrate National Poetry Month Blog Tour 2011 .   being hosted by  Serena Agusto-Cox at  .   Savvy Verse & Wit.   if  you haven’t checked out her site, please take a moment to do so now.  thank you,  Serena, for  allowing me to participate in this year’s Blog Tour.

  1. OMG – Dani! What an honor … thank you! Did you know the watercolor you paired with “Whisper Hello” really is the watercolor’s theme – “Communication” – oh the synchronicity of it all! :-) That is so cool – and actually a validation for me! WOW! Your thoughtfulness and gesture is appreciated. You are such an awesome poetess and divine being!!
