twilight
such a lovely word
such a lovely time of day

when the sun is almost gone
the last vestiges
streaks  of  pink  gold  orange  red
fading away into the indigo heavens

the  firmament continues to deepen
from the darkest blue  to purple  to black

the stars come out one by one
the moon glows brighter and brighter

then twilight is no more
as the night wraps ’round the Earth

if  we were all one tribe

…..every person the whole world over…..

if  we joined together in song

to greet the rising sun

our voices would carry

around the world

and end where the song had begun

¡defiant! {redux}

“Not Afraid”   Eminem

.

.

defiant!

doesn’t mean

i’m not afraid

but

fuck my fears!

i’m gonna live

create

write

sing

dance

get the demons out

any way i can

.

defiant!

doesn’t mean

i’m not afraid

but

fuck my fears!

i’m gonna keep tryin’

to be aware

to pay attention

to really care

to give my all

chase the demons away

with kindness

.

defiant!

doesn’t mean

i’m not afraid

but

fuck my fears!

i’m not alone

if  i fall down

there’s a hand

reaching out

to help me up

beat the demons off

push ‘em away

.

.

defiant!

doesn’t mean

i’m not afraid

but

fuck my fears!

i’m still here

i’ve had enough

of  giving in to my fears

sabotaging myself

gonna make a change

ignore the demons

turn my back

and walk away

into my future

defiant!

i recommend listening to the song while reading the poem as i was listening to it as i wrote. i don’t know much about Eminem’s work, but my muse led me to this song and i feel it fits in perfectly with the feeling of  my poem and ~ maybe ~ relates to how a graffiti artist feels at times, i don’t know.

·ÌºÍ· as the wind blows chill…. {redux}

Wind God by Ogata Korin

·ºÌ€Íº·

as the wind blows chill
and the willow weeps

as day turns to night
and half  the world sleeps
.
º€º
.
as the sun and moon
chase each other ’round the sky

as the stars just watch
never wondering why
.
º€º
.
as time wanders by
because it can’t stand still

life doesn’t stop
and it never will
.
º€º
.
i turn in my grave
unnoticed by all

my death meant nothing
no one heeds my call
.
º€º
.
as the earth keeps turning
my soul now sleeps

as the wind blows chill
and the willow weeps

· §·· i am the earth mother ··§ · {revised}

··§··

i am the earth mother

my brother,  the Sun

my sister,  the Moon

my birthing duties are now done

four children came from my womb

but don’t dare ask me the name of  their sire

§

i am the earth mother

i taught the birds to sing and bees to sting

i taught the wind to  howl

i named the seasons ~ first lovely spring

  then burning summer…   wind-swept autumn…

and last the cold,  cold winter  i  so admire

§

i am the earth mother

moonbeams caress you when i sleep

sunshine warms you when i smile

raindrops fall upon you when i weep

 thunder warns of  my displeasure…

i wield lightning bolts in my ire

§

i am the earth mother

once i was worshipped

and treated with respect

now my treasures have all been stripped

…you’d best be warned    …don’t piss me off

or  your future will be dire
