the wind doesn’t care

this song is poetry both in the lyrics and the way Hendrix sings it

“The Wind Cries Mary”   Jimi Hendrix

lyrics ~

After all the jacks are in their boxes,
And the clouds have all gone to bed,
You can hear Happiness staggering on down the street,
Footprints dressed in red.

And the Wind whispers Mary.

A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterday’s life.

Somewhere a Queen is weeping,
Somewhere a King has no wife.

And the Wind it cries Mary.

The traffic lights they turn blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down upon my bed.
The tiny island sags downstream
‘Cause the life it lived is…  is dead.

And the Wind screams Mary.

Will the Wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past,
And with this crutch, its old age and its wisdom
It whispers, “No, this will be the last.”

And the Wind cries Mary.

the sky gently weeps

washing away my tears…

dampening my fears…

for a moment

you get close enough

to touch me

as my broken heart opens

to the chance of love

“While My Guitar Gently Weeps”   George Harrison

lyrics ~

I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don’t know why nobody told you how to unfold your love
I don’t know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.

I look at the world and I notice it’s turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don’t know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don’t know how you were inverted
No one alerted you.

I look from the wings of the play you are staging
While my guitar gently weeps
‘Cause I’m sitting here doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps.

i chose this poem because i believe it expresses a deep personal belief/fear in very few words  ( and it’s as true today as ever ) { it also was included in the dVerse Anthology

Sorry,  Fireblossom,  i  know you despise haikū,  but this is a senryū  *smile*
