•Ꮱ•Ꮿ•• hidden woods ••Ꮿ•Ꮱ• { revisted }

the Hidden Woods
exist today

but i’ll not tell you where.

only elves,  faeries
and the pure of  heart

dare to venture there.

the Wind always blows warm from the south.
the Moon drops in
when she’s new.

the Sun comes for tea every third Wednesday,
 but you’ll never find a human there
for none has a heart that is true.

dark of night {revisiting 2010}

mist hovering

clouds gathering

blocking the full moon

stars quiet this dark night

in anticipation

of seeing my true form

ϿϾ

autumn memories

timid waves inching forward

as we fell in love

shy beginnings of  our lust

tender kisses on the beach

ϿϾ

water on warm sand

cool air around fervant need

our desire building

summer’s exit unnoticed

love’s flames all that we could see

ϿϾ

walking hand-in-hand

in the sunset of  our lives

autumn memories

wishing we could turn back time

start the journey once again

this is my attempt at  Man’yoshu Japanese Poetry  ~  Somon:  mutual exchanges of love or longing poetry;  tanka:  (5-7-5-7-7)   i wrote this as a love song between a man and a woman  { though it would apply to any couple,  no matter their gender }  the lines in italics are her speaking and the plain text lines are him speaking

if  you are not familiar with  SPARK  { art from writing : writing from art } hosted by founder Amy Souza,  here is how she describes the events ~

“Open to writers,  musicians,  and visual artists of all kinds,  SPARK (getsparked.org)  is a participatory creativity event that takes place four times each year { February,  May,  August and November. }

During each 10-day project round,  participants create a new piece of work using someone else’s art,  writing,  or music as inspiration.  All resulting work is then displayed online,  alongside the piece that inspired it.”

go to the  SPARK archives HERE  to view all of  the previous rounds’ submissions.  click  HERE  for the link to email Amy if  you are interested in joining the next round.  you have options of  working alone,  with a partner you know or a randomly assigned partner.
