memories

you have imprinted yourself

seeing you…
is unexpected
like finding a hundred dollar bill
or a stash of  chocolate you forgot you’d hidden

fancying a kiss
all breath escapes my lips

contemplating  your touch
my body quivers uncontrollably

you walk past
…unseeing

“Unrequited Love”   Lykke Li

lyrics ~

Once again it’s happening
Oh,  this love is unrequited
Twice the pain,  the suffering
Oh,  my love is unrequited
Oh,  my love is unrequited

That must mean I live again
And get back what I gave my men
Get back what I lost to them

Oh, the shame
This crying game
Oh, my love I’ve been denied it
Oh, my love is unrequited

And I know it so well
I could play with the beat
Looking back at myself
While the violin plays

And blue is my tune
Another stitch to my wound
Another inch in this thread
And I know it all too well
When once again it’s happening

Oh,  my love has gone divided
Oh,  my love is unrequited
Oh,  my love is unrequited
Oh,  my love is unrequited
Oh,  my love is unrequited

i’m still celebrating the fifth anniversary of  my heart’s love songs and i decided to rerun the 2012 featured poet series  which spotlights sixty of  the most creative,  talented,  brilliant  {really!}  poets of  our time.  i have been fortunate over the five years to meet this amazing group of  people through twitter and their blogs.  not only are they writers who excite and enchant and entrance their readers,  they are,  one and all,  nice people who are supportive of  everyone in our online poetry community.  the “age of  technology”  has,  in fact,  facilitated the spread of  the ARTS! ~  poetry,  photography,  art,  prose,  music…   i have friends i have yet to meet face-to-face from all around the world.  day or night,  you can visit their blogs and be transported to another time or place or frame of  mind with just a few clicks of  a mouse.  i find it thrilling!  and i believe you will find it equally thrilling to discover their words.  i will be putting up these posts  to reacquaint you with old friends and introduce you to new ones.

just click on the  “Read More”  links on each poem to be taken to a new tab or window to read the rest of  the poem on the author’s blog.  if  you enjoy what you read,  please leave a comment on their blog to let them know.  { you don’t have to say you saw them here. }  i am truly honored that these wonderful people agreed to be featured on my blog ~  my gratitude to them all.

Why I Must
 Stay, That Is

by   lyndagrace

My sign is Cancer,  I like to stay
  inside my shell, that is.
I wonder why I can’t go away
  away from home, that is.

I seem to always want to go
  back, that is.
By that I mean that I don’t like to stay
  away, that is.

Once it was too scary
  to be away, that is.
I had to stay
for my mother, sister and brother, that is…..Read More

Incubus II”    by   Joy Ann Jones/Hedgewitch

Vessel   by  Joy Ann Jones/Hedgewitch

When the moon
is winking

passed from housetop

and wide as a fawn’s
I feel your touch
the wind in the night
cool on fever’s summer,
you who can kiss with…..Read More

Ritual    by  Joy Ann Jones/Hedgewitch

The drum is beating low
but constant like Leviathon’s heart
far up in the moonless basin
filled with the ocean of  night.

The flame flares with the ghosts of grasses
born on the banshee’s wind.
The bent man circles in his animal mask
rustling soft the rattle of bone.

In this black of smoke and flicker
his chant is a shine, his words…..Read More

of possession,
one hunger set aside
