the sun is in love with the moon
•ಔ•
the stars
shine less brightly
in anticipation
of the moon flying away from
the sun
.
the moon
surprises even himself as
he returns the sun’s love
with tenderness
and joy

Weekend Mini-Challenge: Cinquain! at imaginary garden with real toads
prompt: write a cinquain {see below}
i wrote a “mirror” cinquain ~ a cinquain followed by a reverse cinquain
The cinquain is a five-line poem with the following characteristics, in decreasing order of importance:
- Strict syllable count: 2-4-6-8-2
- Strong title which can serve as the first line of the poem
- Strong imagery (perhaps, even, an image per line)
- Nature imagery
- Juxtaposition or a clever “turn” at the end
