to celebrate {inter}national poetry month, i am pleased to be featuring some of the most creative, talented, brilliant {really!} poets of our time. i have been fortunate over the past two and a half years to meet this amazing group of people through twitter and their blogs. not only are they writers who excite and enchant and entrance their readers, they are, one and all, nice people who are supportive of everyone in our online poetry community. the “age of technology” has, in fact, facilitated the spread of the ARTS! ~ poetry, photography, art, prose, music… i have friends i have yet to meet face-to-face from all around the world. day or night, you can visit their blogs and be transported to another time or place or frame of mind with just a few clicks of a mouse. i find it thrilling! and i believe you will find it equally thrilling to discover their words.
i will be putting up these posts throughout the month of April to reacquaint you with old friends and introduce you to new ones. in order to include as many poets as possible, most posts will contain the work of several poets, with a short introduction to each one and a small sampling of their poetry. i am participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge April 2012 by featuring the poets in alphabetical order by first name MOST of the time ~ there will be a few other groupings, as well.
just click on the “Read More” links on each poem to be taken to a new tab or window to read the rest of the poem on the author’s blog. if you enjoy what you read, please leave a comment on their blog to let them know. { you don’t have to say you saw them here. } i am truly honored that these wonderful people agreed to be featured on my blog ~ my gratitude to them all.
and thank you for coming to our celebration ~ enjoy!

Joanne Marie Firth aka @JoanneMFirth
⋆
Joanne Marie Firth { @JoanneMFirth } is my best friend. we met on twitter toward the end of 2010. she lives across the country, we’ve never been face-to-face {yet} but she is like a sister to me. i have the utmost respect for Joanne as a woman, mother, human being…. poet, writer, photographer, artist. she has been writing since she was young and her talent is at a level far beyond the reach of most. when you go to her blog, don’t miss her additional page of Haiku…a few less words than usual. enjoy her words and images ~

June O’Reilly { @LunaJune } is an amazing woman, poet and celestial force. her smile and her energy light the world and warm the hearts of all around her, whether in the same room, across the ocean or in the virtual world. i felt a strong connection with June from the first time i saw a tweet of hers. i am grateful that we have become friends ~ just thinking about her brings a smile to my face. she feels like a sister… sometimes she feels like another me. her life force adds more to the universe than any other woman i’ve ever met. her poetry is magical. even the comments she leaves on others’ sites are wonderful {often more powerful than the original post.} i adore Junie and i am in awe of her words and photographs. i know you will be touched by the love that is Luna ~

i would have loved to have included more poets, but it just wasn’t possible in the amount of time which i can devote to my blog right now. there are many, many more poets who are far better writers than i, and i sincerely hope no one is offended that i did not ask them to participate. these are the poets i “know” and felt comfortable approaching. maybe you and i can get better acquainted before next year? {smile} thank you for your visit! ♥ dani

To paraphrase the Waylon Jennings song, “If we all wrote like we wanted to, we’d all sound like Joy Jones”! What a pleasure to see my BFF featured here at my Sista Poet’s place, and the choice of poems is stellar.
i don’t think we could find a poem of Joy’s that isn’t stellar, do you? {smile} ♥
Thanks, dani, for this kind feature of some of my work . I very much enjoyed reading your other ‘J’ poets as well. Truly, without the community we build here online, we’re like flowers that bloom in some far alpine meadow that no one sees–thanks for taking everyone on a hike through those blooming fields.
it is my pleasure, Joy! ♥ thank you for allowing me to feature your poetry.
