.Ꮙ.

always we wear these masks

as if  life were a masquerade ball

.Ꮙ.

are we concealing one from the other?

or trying to cover our lust

if  temptation should pull us to another?

.Ꮙ.

either way

we’re hiding our truths in the night

giving deception sway

.Ꮙ.

always we wear these masks

for life is a masquerade ball

  1. Sexy and mysterious. We do hide behind our masks. At midnight, let’s take them off. xoxoxo

  2. Dani…
I’ve never seen anybody kill as many writing prompts as you’ve just done.
    Fantastic accomplishment My Friend.
    Loved your contribution.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

    • {smile} one time i did two 3-word prompts, 2 or 3 photo prompts plus at least 2 one-word prompts in one post ~ it was quite tongue in cheek {John Wayne eating a falafel} and really was fun. usually though, trying to do more than one prompt at a time just ends up with really bad poetry. at least when i do it. {giggle} thank you, G. you’re always too kind. have a wonderful weekend yourself. ♥

  3. I am sometimes in awe of how you can combine and kill prompts all in one post *smiles*

This is wonderful share as indeed we all hide under a mask, or another “face” in this masquerade ball. I still have to post mine in the Jam…. See you~

    • i’ll be by to see your poem after you post it. ♥ sometimes i write a really bad poem because i’m trying to use more than one prompt. {smile} thank you for your visits and kind comments, Heaven! ♥

  4. Good write – balances dove-tailing repetition and brevity into an effective, enjoyable piece.

  5. creative.

    lovely 55.

  6. what is temptation but the desire to know mystery…and mystery is not a bad thing now is it…smiles. lovely verse..

    • hmmmm…… an interesting definition of temptation, brian. i’ll have to think on that for awhile. {smile} thank you for your comment! ♥

  7. As long as life’s a ball…

  8. I’m with Brian – I like a little mystery…

  9. Truth howsoever cannot be concealed to the conscience….
Creative combination of so many prompts….
    Lovely write!

  10. This is excellent Dani – and so true. We all wear our masks at times.

    Anna :o]

  11. Oh this is lyrical and a bit haunting, I think. I enjoyed it!
