"Flowers" by Eugene Delacroix

the blush of  pink

softly

washes o’er the garden

as the summer sun is

{{{whispering}}}

her goodbye

and

the night

arrives

late bringing

the moon with

a sprinkling of  stars

finally

wrapping

its arms

gently

across the lands and seas

Ah what a temperate sunset with day softly easing to evening. You make me yearn for softer climes when our days settle late and steamy and the night sinks in steamy heat as hot as day but murkier. I can feel your stardust and it feels young and “in love”. Thanks, Gay

    • thank you so much, Gay! ♥ i appreciate your visit and lovely comment and have really enjoyed your series on free verse at One Stop Poetry.

  8. Such a beautful poem. It is perfect for our pink week . I’m feeling some inspiration of an art piece coming on… Thanks for sharing.

  9. oh what a lovely evening mood you paint with your words – the blush of pink..lovely

    • thank you, Claudia! ♥ the photograph and color prompt of pink came together in my mind as sunset ~ the flowers in the stunning painting seemed more tinted by a sunset than their actual colors. i do so appreciate you visiting and commenting! ♥

  12. I dig how delicate this poem is, like if I breathed on it, it would blow away into the atmosphere. Excellent! :D

  13. What a treat – it’s so very nice to find a different art form amongst the paintings and cards! Beautiful, evocative words, so well phrased.

  14. oh…I like so much poetry, it is a pleasure for my heart, my eyes and my mind to read it…want to know for a yellow one next week xxx
