·ÌºÍ· as the wind blows chill….

.
·ºÌ€Íº·

as the wind blows chill
and the willow weeps

as day turns to night
and half  the world sleeps
.
º€º
.
as the sun and moon
chase each other ’round the sky

as the stars just watch
never wondering why
.
º€º
.
as time wanders by
because it can’t stand still

life doesn’t stop
and it never will
.
º€º
.
i turn in my grave
unnoticed by all

my death meant nothing
no one heeds my call
.
º€º
.
as the earth keeps turning
my soul now sleeps

as the wind blows chill
and the willow weeps

  1. Ah, nice. Life does go on as they say. But, then, so does death…

    • this poem actually surprised me. the beginning two and a half verses came all together and i had no idea where to go from there so i put it away. came across it today still with no idea where it was going. my muse likes to trick me sometimes. {smile} thank you for your visit and kind comment, Richard.

  2. as sad as this is it is a delightful read, great cadence and rhyme…my death meant nothing sticks with me as i dont want that at all….

    • this one came directly from my muse and quite surprised me with where it went. thank you for such a nice comment. well…. until the death part anyway. {smile}

  3. Beautiful and haunting Dani, this could almost be a triolet you know ;)

    • when i finished this, the thought crossed my mind that your triolets are influencing me. i am unable to understand everything involved in writing a proper triolet, though. i’ve always liked, and often use, repetition in my long verse. thank you for such a sweet comment. *hugs* ♥

  4. The world watches and is so helpless.

  5. Interesting take on mortality through your personifications of nature, the universe, and time. I think the first stanza is such a well done, melodic opening; and I enjoyed the poem very much overall.

    • wow! thank you SO much, Adam. the first stanza came to me as a whole and then the rest in bits and pieces. i wasn’t expecting it to be about death at all.

  6. Ah!!! So deep and powerful imagery you have created here. I liked your lines..

  7. So soulful and moving, Dani… it really makes us feel the immenseness of our insignificance on a grander scale of things..
    An amazing poem, my dear…
